S. N. Goenka Lineage is a spiritual organization that is based on the teachings and practices of the Vipassana (Insight) tradition of Buddhism. The organization was founded by S. N. Goenka (1924-2013), a meditation teacher who was born in Burma (Myanmar) and trained in the Vipassana tradition. Goenka was a student of Sayagyi U Ba Khin (1899-1971), who was a leading Vipassana teacher in Burma in the 20th century.
