Sri Brahmananda Sarasvati founded the San Francisco Yoga Society in 1972. He created a space to allow people to come together and learn. Not only that but to also learn how interconnected we all are. The physical location is called the Brahmananda ashram and the premises are located near the heart of downtown San Francisco in the Mission District. It is snuggled humbly between other colourful homes on Folsom street. There is parking located on the road or public transit located within minutes of walking. As iterated by Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati though "the piece of land and buildings are not the ashram, it is the person who is the ashram".
