The Yoga Society's space is known as the Brahmananda ashram, which is a space for people to become students and to think, grow, and evolve. It was founded in 1972 and since has become a space that many come to as part of their spiritual journey. Either to start to learn or to enrich the knowledge they already have and to become more intone wit themselves and the world around them. From yoga classes to meditation and philosophy classes, there is lots offered for everyone at any stage in their journey.
Sri Brahmananda Sarasvati founded the San Francisco Yoga Society in 1972. He created a space to allow people to come together and learn. Not only that but to also learn how interconnected we all are. The physical location is called the Brahmananda ashram and the premises are located near the heart of downtown San Francisco in the Mission District. It is snuggled humbly between other colourful homes on Folsom street. There is parking located on the road or public transit located within minutes of walking. As iterated by Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati though "the piece of land and buildings are not the ashram, it is the person who is the ashram".
