The Kwan Um School of Zen have Zen centre's located all over the world, which includes the Cambridge Zen Center (CZC). The centre is located in the heart of Cambridge, MA and follows the ancient practice of Zen Buddhism. Some of their offerings include morning and evening zen practices, which are open to everyone and anyone.
Zen Master Seung Sahn first came to the West in 1972 and established the Zen Center in Rhode Island. Soon after many other Zen centre's started developing. In 1983 these centres came together to form the Kwan Um School of Zen. There are over 100 zen centre's included. One of these is the Cambridge Zen Center. It is located just 3 blocks from Central Square in the heart of Cambridge and serves the entire Boston Metropolitan area.
The Kwan Um School of Zen is a international Zen Buddhist organization founded by the Korean Zen master Seung Sahn. The organization is named after the Kwan Um ("Perceiving the World") Zen lineage, which Seung Sahn transmitted to his students. The Kwan Um School of Zen has temples, centers, and groups in more than 30 countries around the world.
